A few good books… the chick lit edition.
I fell in love with Jennifer Wiener’s writing in Good in Bed and In Her Shoes. Smart and witty with a great storyline.. What more could you ask for? So when I saw an ad for the latest book I decided to check out her website. There were quite a few books I’ve missed so I headed over to my library and checked two of them out. Little Earthquakes and Certain Girls. They all share one characteristic. A wonderfully sarcastic and plus size heroine.
Certain Girls brings back Cannie, the star of Good in Bed. I’ll admit, I didn’t like this book at first. Seeing life through the eyes of a 13 year old isn’t something I’d like to relive. However, the more I read, the more I fell in love with Joy, Cannie & Peter. It’s a journey told through Joy’s eyes of finding out the truth and Cannie facing her little girl growning up before her eyes. You should definitely keep a box of tissues handy for this one!
Little Earthquakes is the tale of four new mothers. I was hesitant to read this because I do not have any experience being a Mom. Maybe one day I’ll have a podling of my own but I wasn’t sure I was really interested in reading about Mom’s. However, after the first few pages I was hooked. I LOVED this story. I was sorry to see it end.
